The euphoria surrounding the Mineral Point Softball victory at the state tournament has not abated. The community is incredibly proud of this achievement.

On Monday night, the team and coaches were honored at the Mineral Point School Board meeting. Many team members were not able to attend because they are participating in various Public Speaking Competitions at the 84th Wisconsin FFA Convention.  Like many MP students, the softball team is a multi-talented group.

Fans have been expressing their gratitude to the team by voting for star pitcher Beth Wood for player of the week. You can vote for Beth by clicking here. It takes about a second. And you can – and should – vote again tomorrow.

Finally, word on the street is that Library movies soon will be returning to the Opera House and that the first showing (a classic girls baseball movie) will be in honor of the MP Softball champions.  The movie will be shown on Friday evening, June 28th. So, mark your calendar and look for more information in the MP Library (like ’em on Facebook).
