Two Benefit Concerts – Two Homegrown Talents

Friday night Erik Kjelland and his band The Mascot Theory will rock the Opera House to benefit Mineral Point’s Railroad Depot, which sustained damage from the recent torrential storms. For a sampling of their music, check out this awesome animated YouTube video – and enjoy the scenes where High Street gets blown up. Watching this song live is reason enough to go to the concert.

Watch this video of Kelly Jo and her father, HSB contributor Mike Mitchell, totally nailing the National Anthem at a Brewer’s Game a couple of years ago.  How great is that?

Both Kelly Jo and Erik Kjelland — graduates of  Mineral Point’s fine public school — write their own music and have released well-regarded CDs. But, nothing beats a live performance by artists returning to their hometown. So, join the excitement and come out this weekend to see these two flourishing musical talents in action.
