The New Red Rocks

If you haven’t caught a concert or a performance at Mineral Point’s Alley Stage, put it on your to-do list before the summer ends.  So far this summer this quarry-turned theatre has played host to live music from Point Five, Kelly Jo Mitchell, and yesterday’s all-day Folk Fest.

A couple weeks ago, Madison’s Mark Croft recorded a live album at Alley Stage.  Here’s a snippet:

Awesome right? This could be the beginning of a beautiful thing. Alley Stage could become a more intimate version of Colorado’s famed Red Rocks – where the likes of U2, Sting, Mumford & Sons, Dave Matthews, John Mayer, and many more recorded live.

Next up at Alley Stage is Mineral Point’s Own Cupola – THIS THURSDAY – August 8th at 7:30pm featuring witty Aussie front-woman Lily Merrick.  In addition to original tunes, like this one, Cupola plays an eclectic selection of covers you’ll know. Knitters are welcome! (Two knit groups meet on Thursdays in Mineral Point.)

For the complete line-up at Alley Stage, click here.  And, for tickets visit www.alleystage.com or phone 608-987-3292.

Not only can you knit during the concert, but you can have a drink! Beer and wine are available for purchase at all events held at Alley Stage.
