Looking for a little late night live entertainment in Mineral Point this weekend? Then check out the irrepressible Williams Sisters who will be playing their distinctive blend of Irish-American folk, Indie-pop and comedy songs at the Gray Dog Deli this Friday, August 23rd at 10pm.
Mixing up original tunes with covers by artists including Regina Spektor, Sufjan Stevens, Allison Krauss, Ingrid Michaelson, and Irish musicians in the vein of Lisa Hannigan and Sinead O’Connor, the duo pepper their show with anecdotes about their self- described, “bizarre years spent in Ireland together.”
With Maura on guitar and Rebecca on piano, The Williams Sisters alternate taking the lead on vocals, all the while complementing one another with lovely blood harmonies.
Fun, lighthearted and unpredictable, they both enjoy playing off the “sister thing” and engaging the audience in banter and song mash-ups (see The Cups video below).
Gray Dog will be serving wine, beer and margaritas.
Entry is free. For inquiries, phone (608) 987 4000.
