Hungry for Change

27222_366383074411_6043974_nTonight (10/4/13) authors Julie Stephenson and Dr. Sarah Fox kick off a night of wellness at the Mineral Point Opera House. Stop by for some healthy snacks featured in their book, Super Snacks for Super Kids.  Talk with Julie and Sarah and learn how groups from Maryland to Utah have sold these books to fundraise for their own schools.  Find out how the Mineral Point School Garden is doing (see Susan Webb’s post “Overheard at Recess:  ‘I Love Spinach.‘”).

And, buy some books! Doors open at 6 p.m.

Then, at 7 p.m. watch a free documentary “Hungry For Change.” Here’s a link to the official trailer. The screening is free and funded by Grassroots Citizens of WI and other partners. Following the film a panel discussion will take place with Kriss Marion of Circle M Farm, Dr. Sarah Fox, Rink DaVee of Shooting Star Farm and Green Square, Robin Timm of Platteville’s Driftless Market and David Parr of Paarfection Produce.

Discussion and merriment will continue at a healthy wine/beer and cheese reception at the Gray Dog Deli.  Everyone is welcome!
