Not So Hidden Treasures

Here’s the exciting line-up of entertainment, food and local products you will find at this year’s “Local Treasures Night”:

Sirius Sunlight Glass Studio: In honor of the date of this event, Sirius Sunlight Glass Studio will feature a private collection of Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) items as well as presenting a new glass art piece, “Muertos” by Jill Engels in collaboration with partner Chuck Pound.

Lunch Bus, LLC: We have a certified kitchen on our little blue bus and work with local dairies and Webers meat plant. Our menu will feature items made with the local cheeses. For Example we are using Hooks Cheese for our Beefy Truffle Melt and our Herb and Garlic Pizza Melt features Hooks pepper cheese and Schurmans pizza cheese. We also have breakfast burritos using Hooks pepper cheese.

1016649_597346163622710_2081212715_nBrewery Pottery: Make your own “Local Treasure”! Make a porcelain ornament at Brewery Pottery (5 p.m. to 8 p.m.). Your stained and fired ornament will be ready for pickup starting December 7th (Gallery Night/ Candlelight Shopping).

Johnston Gallery: Sample local cheeses from Hooks Cheese and Fayette Creamery.

The Mineral Point Collection: Featuring all 28 LOCAL VENDORS in our shop. Also we will provide locally made snack items, for those who wish to snack.

He will read from and discuss his newest book, SPOKE, published by LITTLE CREEK PRESS. Coleman will be at the bookstore from 6:30 – 8:00 PM. Be sure to join us for A CONVERSATION WITH COLEMAN.

High Street Sweets: Featuring two new items -­‐ Julie Oberhauser’s “Ober-­The-­Rainbow” granola and Maple Leaf Lollipops made with locally sourced maple syrup. Both products are made in Mineral Point at the Innovation Kitchen. Rick Harris will be performing music under the mural he painted. And one or two local treasures will be featured in some surprising performance art.

Against The Grain: Featuring Feed Sacks from the 1930’s through
1960’s, quilt blocks, some date to the early 1900’s. Joey has been adding to the cache of fabric in the gallery come in & add to your Stash

621559_168539223283530_626505447_o-1MP Dining Company: On Local Treasures Night 2013, Chef Charlie Socher of MP Dining Company will offer FarmStand Butternut Squash Soup and will prepare two roasts in the restaurant’s wood-­‐fired oven.

Phoebe’s Nest: Featuring Becky Cook, with her beautiful fabric creations, pillows, table runners and accessories for your home. We will also be hosting Judy Casper with her incredible warm felted mittens. Laura McNeill’s exquisite pastels will grace our walls. We have, as always books by local writers, locally made photo cards, jewelry, pottery, and wood creations lovingly crafted for you and your home. November 2nd 10 am – 9 pm.

Theatre of Ballet Arts: Extending an invite for folks “touring” MP to stop in and catch a glimpse of rehearsals for an original new ballet -­‐ Thumbelina -­‐ taking place at SABA’s studio on Fountain Street.
