There’s a new addition to the Mineral Point dining scene and, it’s aptly called — The Filling Station — Sandwich and Pasta Shoppe.
It’s located where Subway used to be. (For visitors, it’s on Dodge Street near the Quality Inn, and it’s the gray building behind the big gas station in the picture below.)
This little restaurant is the creation of Cierra Wallace (MPHS Class of ’05, shown below with her father Ken). The Wallace family have a long tradition of serving good food in town, as many of you may remember the Redwood restaurant, located where Zian’s is now. Cierra has really transformed the place into a charming diner.
Your first decision is figuring out what color sparkly chair to sit on. I like the blue the best.
Next, check out the menu – wonderful sandwiches and pastas, with salads coming soon. (Items starred are currently available. The other items are a glimpse of what’s to come.)
You can even order a glass of wine or beer with your meal.
The best part about the Filling Station is the food. It’s really good. REALLY GOOD. Do you like carmalized onions on your sandwich? Do you like Roesti potatoes? Of course you do.
With a view of the gas station, the place makes you feel like you’re on a road trip and just discovered the greatest diner of your life.
Do yourself a favor and check out The Filling Station – open daily 11 a.m.-7 p.m., and closed on Sundays.
The Official Grand Opening is Monday, March 17th!
