Farmer’s Market Arrival Promises Spring

my_tulipsEven though this winter is being wishy-washy (should I stay, should I go?), the Mineral Point Farmer’s Market signals spring. Hear that, winter? The market is starting, so you must leave!

According to Kathy Bures, co-manager of the market and co-owner of Bures Berry Patch, many familiar vendors will be selling their goodies, and a few new ones too.

05222008farm-eggsDebuting this Saturday is Sweet Earth Gardens. The fresh flower growers from Avoca will bring tulip, daffodil and dutch iris bouquets. Other vendor offerings include spinach, radishes, chicken, pork, eggs, flour and much more. To stay up to date on vendors and other news, check out the market website and sign up for their weekly newsletter.

Smooth-Leafed-Spinach-300x200Saturday’s forecast calls for partly cloudy skies and a high of 62 degrees, so let’s pack up the parkas for good and head to Water Tower park. Market hours are from 8:30 to 11 a.m.
