Good Signs

We start this post with BREAKING NEWS.  Check out the sign peeking through the window on the corner of High and Commerce.

The sign on the former “Set in Stone” is legit and was put there by Anne and Bruce Palzkill. Next month they plan to open “Gad & Pick: A Miner’s Pub.” The name derives from classic zinc and lead mining tools. Their nephew Jared Whitford, a wine distributor in Madison, will be providing guidance on wine selections.

We look forward to welcoming “Gad and Pick” to this prime location and wish Anne and Bruce the best of luck with this new venture.

Here are some other signs popping up around town.

In a sure sign of success, the Filling Station installed this super cool, giant sign.  I like how the eating utensils are incorporated into the gas gauge. 11415341_772290179551264_6092003408543889160_n

The faded old street signs are being replaced by these Pointer-blue ones with white reflective letters.

This newly installed sign at the base of Pendarvis’ Merry Christmas Mine Hill certifies it as a Wildlife Habitat.

The “No Dogs Allowed” signs in Library Park have been replaced by more instructive signs. Dogs with self control (?) are now allowed to walk on the grass.

It’s a sign of the times, as Petula Clark would say. (Check out this awesome video, which is not a parody.)

I wouldn’t be surprised if we see even more good signs in the next few months.
