Early morning – 2 p.m. – Fresh curd at award-winning Hooks Cheese

6:00-8:00 p.m. – Jammin’ on the Porch at Orchard Lawn — “Stay Tuned” featuring Paul Biere, Carol Spelic, and Yvonne McIntyre

8:30 p.m. – Live Music at the Gray Dog – classic and country rock by “Moon Rocks” featuring Steve Heron, Dave Hopper, Carol McKernan

Saturday, September 12th

8:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. –Mineral Point Farmers Market at Water Tower Park

9:30 a.m. Rowe’s Rock Cottage – Antique Auction at the Iowa County Fairgrounds

7:30 p.m. – Comedy at the Opera House – “Ole and Lena‘s 50th Wedding Anniversary and Vow Renewal”

Sunday, September 13h

1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. As part of the Southwest Wisconsin Book Festival, presented by the Mineral Point Library, Author Chad Lewis will share some of the most haunted places in Wisconsin, including some in Mineral Point. This will be in the Opera House and will be followed by a presentation of the “Award for Excellence in Writing.”

2:00-4:00 p.m. A Free Family Fun Event at the Mineral Point Library as part of the Southwest Wisconsin Book Festival including:

  • Mini-Golf in the stacks
  • Build a Community Book Sculpture
  • Library Treasure Hunt
  • Little Book Making
  • Book Bake-Off (to pre-register, phone 608-987-2447)

6:00 p.m. Filzmp will be showing About Elly at the Opera House.  Social hour is at 5:00 p.m.. Guests of filmzmp members are welcome to attend for $10.

Ongoing Activities Throughout this Weekend and Beyond

Tour the 1868 Gundry House at Orchard Lawn, Friday through Sunday 1-5 pm

Tour the Mineral Point Railroad Museum in Wisconsin’s oldest surviving railroad depot. Thursday-Saturday 10-4, Sunday noon-4

Tour Pendarvis – one of only a dozen designated Wisconsin Historical Sites in the State
Daily 10-5 pm

Take a class at Shake Rag Alley Center for the Arts. If classes are already full, tour the grounds and see what’s happening there.
