Weekend Events – August 12-14

This is one of those jam-packed weekends in Mineral Point.  Artists are painting all over town as part of Paint the Point, the Dairyland Dare comes through, and there are all sorts of musical performances on tap.


Friday, August 12th

Paint the Point continues

5:30 p.m. Wisconsin High School Regional Rodeo begins at the Iowa County Fairgrounds

                        6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Jammin’ on the Porch featuring Better Daze                                  at Orchard Lawn (Gundry House)

7:30  p.m. Larry Busch Band performs at the Mineral Point Opera House

8:00 p.m. Live music performed by Carla Pustina at Gray Dog Deli

Saturday, August 13

8:30 – 11:00 a.m. Mineral Point Farmers Market at Water Tower Park

Wisconsin High School Regional Rodeo continues at the Iowa County Fairgrounds

Paint the Point continues with a Quick Paint in the morning, with displays to follow at the Green Lantern Studio (261 High St)

10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Show & Sale: View and purchase completed paintings at these locations:

The Old Bank Building (203 High St)

Gray Dog Deli (215 High St)

Green Lantern Studios (261 High St)

                  2 p.m. Fossil Roadshow at the Trinity Episcopal Church, Lower Level                     Bring your found fossils or interesting stones, for identification and discussion!

5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Fish Boil at the Hope Lutheran Church (555 Commerce St)

Sunday, August 14th 

Wisconsin High School Regional Rodeo continues at the Iowa County Fairgrounds

Ongoing Activities Throughout this Weekend and Beyond

Tour the 1868 Gundry House at Orchard Lawn, Friday through Sunday 1-5 pm.

Tour the Mineral Point Railroad Museum in Wisconsin’s oldest surviving railroad depot. Thursday-Saturday 10-4, Sunday noon-4.

Tour Pendarvis – one of only a dozen designated Wisconsin Historical Sites in the State
Daily 10-5 pm.

Take a class at Shake Rag Alley Center for the Arts. If classes are already full, tour the grounds and see what’s happening there.
